General Information
Board of Directors - United Singles Club is governed by a Board of Directors who act to manage the organization. Officers and Board members are elected at the Annual Meeting in April and serve without monetary compensation.
Volunteers - Everything in this club is done by volunteers. We only collect enough admission at our Saturday dances to pay our expenses. We are always in need of volunteer help to decorate and take down decorations at dances, host events, work on committees and more. You don't have to be a member to volunteer. Don't let this scare you off. We don't expect everyone to have time to help.
Newsletters - United singles has a newsletter which is emailed or mailed to all club members monthly. The newsletter lists monthly events and has more information than this web site.
Sunshine Committee - We have a committee which sends flowers or cards to members in times of need.
Home Events - Some events are held in members homes. Members who host these events are reimbursed by the club for expenses.
Membership - Membership in our club is open to anyone who is over 21 and single. The cost to join is $30. Renewals are $30 per year. Membership entitles you to receive our newsletter, have reduced admission at our Saturday dances, and attend other club functions.
Monthly Dances - Dances are held the last Saturday of the month at the Olympia Eagles. Dance admission is only $7.00 for members and $12 for guest. Doors open at 7:00pm and music is from 8:00pm.to Midnight. Dances have cups, ice, coffee, and snacks provided. We have a wide variety of DJ music. We have a fairly even mix of men and women. There are normally 100 to 125 people in attendance. Ages range from 30's to 80's with a majority of members in their 40's and 50's. We have no dress code at our dances but we encourage people to "Dress to Impress" Our only requirements are that all our members and guests are over 21 and single.
The SRC dances which you see listed in our Activities section are held by a similar club in the Tacoma area. Singles Resource Club. We have a similar purpose and we advertise for one another but we are not affiliated. We try to schedule our events as much as possible so they do not conflict with one another. Many people are members of both clubs.
